Every time Twitter rolls out a design update, there is mixed reception. As many will point out, the negative reviews fade – fast. This is because as awful as you think a design element is, the more you use it the less you remember what came before.

But we should pay a bit more attention to the design turn-overs of a brand as big as Twitter. Redesigns don’t occur for no reason: as time goes on, old ideas become stale and competition undoubtedly starts toying with interesting features that force change into self-preservation.

Powered by hashtag, #BEATSHOLIDAY, this Christmas tree twinkles with each use on Instagram and Twitter.

Innovative creative goes a long way in making an impression, and this effort by Boston agency #ang for Beats by Dre is a sparkling example. For the launch of Beats Pills they used the power of social media to physically light up a 6 foot Christmas tree made out of beats pills.

On Instagram, when photos are tagged with #BeatsHoliday, fans instantly see their photos appear on digital screens that hang on the tree like ornaments. On Twitter, each time the hashtag #BeatsHoliday is used, red LED lights within the Beats Pills blink on and off.  Brand-building, engaging, and fun! Great work A&G.

Basically a responsive email is one that’s coded to adjust depending on the size of the user’s screen.   Are users viewing emails on their mobile devices? You betcha and email usage in general is rapidly growing.

All 5 are great tips, but our favorite relates to E-Commerce tracking.

Compare Google Analytics to Database

• When 2 or more of the same item are purchased, does Google Analytics trigger _addItem more than once? (it should)
• How does Google Analytics record transactions that use promotional coupons and how the database reports it?
• Be careful with apostrophes! If you use apostrophes in your product names you should be careful not to pass them to Google Analytics on the _addItem, they can break your code.
